Well, this is officially the longest I have ever gone writing on this blog of mine!
Things have been crazy around here! We went on a beautiful vacation to Turks & Caicos islands back in February and I have yet to post pictures and write about that vacation! I will say it was the single best vacation we have ever been on as a family. Amazing!
Alaina is talking! Yes, talking - can you believe it? Mama, Dada, Nina (for Celina), dog, cat, book, pretty, happy, elmo, flower, etc. There you have it, I have officially leaked my children's names :).
And the big project I was talking about? Well, that is what has been keeping me so darn busy! I launched Child Mode on January 22nd and it took off in a way that I couldn't have imagined. Tori Spelling mentioned us on her Twitter page a couple of days ago which had us on People.com for the last couple of days.

We're Off!
We're off tomorrow for a much needed getaway. Its been a crazy few months and we haven't had a minute to slow down and relax.
C is super excited and is planning on packing up her new backpack for the excursion. I'm hoping the change of scenery will help A with her teething. The poor babe has been strapped to me constantly. I wish I could take some of her pain away.
My husband went for his physical yesterday to see "Doctor Boy". Although his Doctor is truly a male unlike C's female "Doctor Boy".
All is good. His blood pressure is 110/65 which is a couple points lower than mine. The doctor said, "Ray if you continue this lifestyle of yours, you'll have 10 years left to live."
"What?!" said my husband.
"Yes, 10 times 10. You are healthier than most of my patients here at the clinic. Nothing to worry about at all. Keep it up."
When he told me the first half I thought I was going to have a heart attack. NOT funny!
Now off I go to finish packing diapers, books, toys and clothing. Oh, and the passports would probably be a good idea as well ;).

Trip
The heat has been stifling over the last couple of days! "A" has been sleeping "Au Natural" besides her diaper. Whew! We've been drinking lots of these and that has helped but I think what we need most is a really good down pour.
Our trip was lovely! We left Sunday morning and met one of my childhood friends in Barrie for lunch. It was so nice to see her and her new baby girl. Here we were eating lunch together with children of our own. It's odd how time flies by so quickly leaving so many memories behind. Memories that get swept to the surface by seeing an old friend or even by visiting a certain spot, town or home. And now I regress.
After leaving Barrie we drove to Brampton and went shopping for C. Besides the couple of dresses I made the poor girl had no summer clothes. I was pleasantly surprised to find quite a few beautiful outfits that just happened to be on sale! C was thrilled and insisted upon carrying her bags to the truck.
We stayed at a lovely place which had a walk out. Next time I'll be sure to bring lawn chairs as the area was so peaceful.
Monday morning we went to the Lion Safari which was incredible. We all had a marvelous time and the weather was sunny and warm. We took the tour bus through as my husband didn't want to risk our truck getting scratched up by the monkeys.
In the evening we went out to a quaint little Chinese restaurant with another friend of mine who I hadn't seen in years.
Tuesday morning after checking out of the hotel, we went to Erin, Ontario which is now the single most perfect little town I have ever laid eyes on. If its possible to have a town which you belong to, which your soul belongs to this is the one for us. My husband used to live in the Caledon/Erin area and my goodness if it isn't the most gorgeous area! Too bad housing is so expensive there. Also I wouldn't want to change our lifestyle as its quite ideal at the moment with our home business. But you never know what the future may hold.
After leaving Erin we visited Caledon and saw the house my husband built and were disappointed to see the lack of upkeep. The owners had just let the property and home go. It was sad to see. Although I had never lived in that home or been there when he built it, I felt sad in a way. The history behind the house, my husband's past, the pain he went through... again, memories.
We drove through a bunch of little towns after wards. In two days we managed to visit, Barrie, Brampton, Kitchener, Cambridge, Erin, Caledon, Orangeville, Alliston and Cookstown.
The entire trip was just perfect :).

Home Sweet Home
We came home at a half decent time yesterday after a marvelous trip. Great wolf lodge was incredible! Highly recommend it!
My grandparents were thrilled to see us. It was so much fun surprising them! We called them just before pulling into their driveway and then rang the doorbell. My Nonna's eyes started to fill up and the look on her face was priceless. Ah, I love surprises!
We also surprised my Aunt, Uncle and Cousins at their new Restaurant/Bistro and had a beautiful visit. The food was truly fantastic!
Its funny how a few days away can bring you such peace and joy yet at the same time a newly acquired appreciation for your home. I loved getting away and I loved coming home!

Getting ready
My anticipation is beginning to build now that we are one day away from our mini vacation/Anniversary getaway! We were planning on a trip to Ottawa/Montreal, however 9 hours (not including bathroom breaks which are quite frequent with a 2 year old) is a fairly long drive with two little ones, so we had a slight change in plans. Toronto, Niagara Falls and Barrie are on the agenda.
My Nonno & Nonna live in Toronto so we will be visiting them before heading to Niagara. I can't wait for them to meet their new great grand-daughter! It makes me so proud to see my children with their great-grandparents, to see the joy and light in their eyes is priceless!
We are also going to, Great Wolf Lodge! C is going to be so thrilled, I can't wait to see her face! #1 item on my To Pack list? CAMERA!
Last but not least is a trip to Barrie where my dearest friend will be meeting us. Can't wait to see her!
I'm planning on making some snacks to take along so today is sure to be a busy day with the long list of other things that must be done before we leave.
